Arrival and Pickup

The Mt. Lebanon Municipality created safe zones around the perimeter of Hoover in order to provide efficient drop-off and pick-up of students while allowing maximum access to the building in the event of an emergency.  For the safety of our students, it is critical that families adhere to the Go-Zone procedures below, and remain patient and alert during drop-off and pick-up times.

 

General Traffic Flow

• Vehicles enter HES Go Zone from Bower Hill Road
• Drivers should pull as far forward as possible before students exit/enter their vehicles
• Students should exit/enter vehicles on the "sidewalk" side only
• Go Zone Lane (green curb) is "drop/pick-up & go" (drivers should not exit the vehicle while in this area); unattended vehicles will be ticketed
• NO DOUBLE PARKING/STOPPING on Robb Hollow
  • When the Go Zone is full, drivers should loop around the block
    • Robb Hollow-->Sylandell-->Bower Hill-->Robb Hollow
    • Robb Hollow-->Larchdale-->Firwood-->Robb Hollow
• Parking is permitted in designated areas only (see interactive map for details)
• No u-turns in the street, school entrance, or private driveways

 

AM Drop Off

• Student Arrival: 8:20-8:30AM
• Vehicles enter HES Go Zone from Bower Hill Road
• Drivers should pull as far forward as possible before students exit their vehicles
• Students should exit vehicles on the "sidewalk" side only
• Drop & Go (driver remains in the vehicle)
• Access to Felser Way is limited to busses only from 8:00-9:00AM
• HES Staff Member will be on hand to supervise & assist

 

AM Kindergarten Pick Up

• AM Kindergarten Dismissal: 11:20AM
• Vehicles pull as far forward as possible
  • 1st vehicle waits at the crosswalk
  • Do not stop at the steps to allow space for all families along the green curb
• Teacher will escort Kindergarteners to the steps to meet families on the sidewalk
• If GO ZONE LANE is full, parking is available in at the top or bottom of Robb Hollow (see interactive map for details)

 

PM Kindergarten Drop Off

• PM Kindergarten Arrival: 12:40PM
• Parking is available from the top of Robb Hollow, through the GO ZONE LANE (until 12:45PM)
• Parent/Guardian/Caregiver must escort students to blacktop near the Main Office to wait for Teacher to welcome the students

 

PM Pick Up

• Student Dismissal: 3:30PM
• Vehicles enter HES Go Zone from Bower Hill Road
• Drivers should pull as far forward as possible before students enter their vehicles
• If the Go Zone is full, drivers should loop around the block
  • Robb Hollow-->Sylandell-->Bower Hill-->Robb Hollow
  • Robb Hollow-->Larchdale-->Firwood-->Robb Hollow
• Students should enter vehicles on the "sidewalk" side only
• Pick-Up & Go (driver remains in the vehicle)
• HES Staff Member will be on hand to supervise & assist until ALL students have been picked up
