From counseling and health services to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) supports and everyday classroom experiences, our focus is on helping each child feel safe, supported, and ready to thrive. We’re committed to nurturing not only strong learners, but confident, compassionate young people prepared for whatever comes next.
Counseling
We know that a child’s emotional well-being is the foundation for everything they do. From making a new friend on the playground to tackling a tough math problem, our Elementary School Counseling program is here to ensure that every student feels safe, happy, and supported.
Health Services
Our Certified School Nurses work hand-in-hand with parents, staff, and local providers to ensure every child is supported, safe, and ready to learn.
Student Services
Our Special Education and Student Services team is here to ensure that every student has the tools, support, and encouragement they need.
Be Hawksome at Hoover Elementary
At Hoover Elementary, creating a positive school climate is a shared commitment. Our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework helps students develop strong social skills, build responsibility, and contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment for everyone.
Our School-Wide Expectations: Be Hawksome
Hoover students are encouraged to show Hawksome behaviors throughout the school day by demonstrating three core expectations:
- Respectful
- Safe
- Prepared
These expectations are taught, modeled, and reinforced consistently by staff across classrooms, common spaces, and school activities.
Recognizing Positive Choices
Celebrating student success is an important part of our PBIS approach. At Hoover positive behaviors are acknowledged in several ways:
- Positive Feedback: Staff provide specific verbal encouragement to reinforce positive actions and decision-making.
- Reward Tickets: Students who demonstrate Hawksome behavior may receive Hawksome Tickets. These tickets may be used for:
- Classroom incentives and celebrations
- School-wide recognition
- Special privileges and experiences
